Dr. Andreea D. Iani, DVM, MSc, is a joint-PhD student at the University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine of Cluj-Napoca (Romania) and Ross University School of Veterinary Sciences (St. Kitts), under the supervision of Dr. Andrei D. Mihalca, PhD, DipECZM, and Dr. Jennifer Ketzis, PhD, Associate Member EVPC. Her PhD research focuses on tropical parasites of cats, particularly Mammomonogamus ierei, and exploring its diagnosis, treatment, and life cycle through experimental and applied studies. In parallel, she is involved in diagnostic parasitology, clinical trials, and teaching at both institutions. She will undertake a two-year residency in veterinary parasitology, with the majority of her clinical training at Cornell University under the mentorship of Dr. Manigandan Lejeune, DVM, PhD, DACVM-Parasitology, and Dr. Timothy Wu, DVM, PhD, DACVP-Anatomic, DACVM-Parasitology, while also training at USAMV Cluj-Napoca and Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine under her current mentors. Her career goal is to become a board-certified veterinary parasitologist, contributing to clinical diagnostics, parasite control, and education.
